The hundreds of children we see under the NHS who have their teeth looked after at the Hersham Dental Practice are mostly free of decay. We like to sign them on during their first year so we can offer advice about feeding and brushing.

Children under seven need parental brushing and a children's strength toothpaste.

Bring them for a check-up twice a year.

Children's Days

We see most younger children on our special Children's Days. Lots of toys, a dental health theme for the day, quizzes, prizes and presents make it a fun visit.

Orthodontics

We check that their bite is developing normally and offer orthodontic advice at the appropriate time.

Accidents

Kids are always falling off things and we will make time to see them if there is an emergency. We can have a well-fitting sports guard made (in jolly colours) to prevent sports injuries.

Fissure sealants

As the grown up molars come through we offer sealants for these teeth to help prevent decay in the future. We will tell you the charges for these when we advise them. We guarantee them for two years and replace free of charge if any are lost.

Problems

Unfortunately some children come to us with decay and pain and may have had unhappy times at the dentist in the past. We offer private treatment to them so that we can take the time they need until the problems are sorted out.
